Havering’s Fire Cadets celebrated a year of picking up valuable life skills and learning what it takes to be a firefighter at a special pass-out parade ceremony.

The pass-out parade ceremony for Havering’s newly graduated fire cadets took place at Romford Fire Station in Pettits Boulevard on July 10.

Paul Hobbs, borough commander who attended the ceremony said: “Congratulations to the cadets for their success and achievement in completing their first year with London Fire Brigade.

“[They] are integral to the Brigade and it is fantastic to see them fulfil their potential.”

And Mr Hobbs insisted that the cadets were a fantastic way for young people to test themselves.

“It provides incredible experience and a chance to learn life skills. It’s also a way for us to introduce firefighting as a possible career to young people from different communities and backgrounds across London,” he added.
