Cllr Keith Darvill (Heaton, Labour) was re-elected chairman of the Havering Fabian Society

Labour councillor Keith Darvill (Heaton) was among those chosen as Havering Fabian Society officers last week.

The group’s AGM, at Fairkytes Arts Centre, Hornchurch, last Friday, saw Cllr Darvill elected to the position of chairman, former councillor Mike Flynn to that of vice chairman, conservationist David Marshall picked as honorary secretary and long serving member Dave Baldock as honorary treasurer.

Mary Breading, stepping down as membership secretary, was praised for her contribution. Her replacement, Cllr Sanchia Alasia, represents Alibon Ward on Barking and Dagenham Council.

London and the City GLA member John Biggs also gave members of the socialist group a talk entitled “London Under Boris”.
