Capt Frederick Corr, from Harold Hill, passed away on January 29, aged 81, and was buried at Upminster Cemetery on Monday.

Mr Corr was born in 1931 and enlisted in the Royal Corp of Signals in 1949, serving in countries such as Egypt, Singapore, and Malaysia.

After being demobbed in 1966, Mr Corr became involved with Royal Corp of Signals Association and many cadet groups, including those in Harold Hill and Dagenham.

His daughter, Sandra Ibrahim, said: “He absolutely loved being involved in the cadets. It was the camaraderie and being able to pass on his knowledge he enjoyed.

“He was very well liked. Many cadets still remember him today.”

Mr Corr leaves two children and three grandchildren.

His wife, Barbara “Lily” Corr died aged 75 last September.
