TV personality and former Towie star Amy Childs welcomed a young girl with cerebral palsy recovering from a life-changing operation to her salon for a girl day out.

Amber Lilly Triggs, eight, of Straight Road, Harold Hill, was delighted to visit Amy Childs Salon, Ingrave Road, Brentwood, where she had her nails done by the lady herself.

Amber had a selective dorsal rhizotomy at Great Ormond Street Hospital in July to help alleviate the stiffness in her muscles which could lead to her walking independently, after her family managed to raise thousands of pounds for the operation.

Money is still being raised to go towards the little girl’s aftercare.

Russell, Amber’s dad, said: “Amber is doing really well her physio is very pleased with her progress.

“Amber is walking with zimmer and can take few steps unaided. She still has a long way to go but with people donating this will be possible.

“Amber loves her physio and is now writing her Christmas list because she has new legs she tells everybody she is such a star we are so proud of Amber.

“At the salon, Amber had her nails coloured pink of course and Amy said she is a brave girl and can visit any time.”
