Pupils rode the rodeo bull and teachers had their pom-poms at the ready at an annual summer fete last week.
Hacton Primary School, Chepstow Avenue, Hornchurch, held the fete with the school choosing an American themed affair this year - inspired by American independence day.
Pupils made American flag buntings, got their faces painted and had a go riding a mechanical rodeo bull, with teachers rounding off the academic year with an authentically American cheerleading routine.
Parents’ Association chair and summer fete organizer Chas Verma said: “It went really well, the weather was on our side and the kids all had fun.”
The children enjoyed the attractions on offer, which included a bouncy castle and an inflatable slide.
Mrs Verma said it was a fitting occasion and send off for the year six leavers, with the yearly event designed to teach something different to the children in order to “capture their imagination.”
“It’s important that the children have fun and it’s a way of introducing new things to them.” She added: “It’s just nice to know that we have ended the year well.”
