Staff and customers from a local store have joined forces to donate craft supplies to a hospice.
Wilkinson, in Mercury Gardens, Romford, with three other Wilkinson stores, donated four trolley loads full of goods to The Treehouse Hospice. It provides care and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Staff asked customers to buy and donate a craft item from the store, before delivering them to the hospice for the children.
Graham Baxter, the Romford store manager, said: “This charity event was unbelievably successful and we’d like to thank all our loyal customers who bought and donated a present for the children.
“I’m really proud of the Wilkinson teams, as they are always incredibly enthusiastic about fundraising and encouraging customers to do the same.”
The bloodied man seen ranting on camera minutes after a soldier was hacked to death in Woolwich yesterday was raised in an “ultra-Christian household” in Romford, friends of the family claim.
