Firefighters are currently at the scene of a gas leak on a building site.
Crews from Harold Hill fire station were called to the incident at 3.30pm today (Friday January 27) in Gubbins Lane, Harold Wood.
The incident, on the former Harold Wood Hospital site is believed to have been caused by a mechanical excavator damaging a gas pipe.
A car was left on its side in the middle of a road after a road traffic accident this morning.

Absolute chaos in the area for an hour or so. Plenty of "helpful" police and fireman saying where you could not go, no one saying where was open! At the A12 end of Gubbins Lane numerous police hanging about doing nothing, at the other end a single lollypop lady trying to manage the traffic and buses trying to do U turns. If this is "police efficiency" e can sack the lot to save money.
