Traffic delays are expected in Emerson Park as four months of roadworks begin on Monday.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place in Butts Green Road as the National Grid carries out gas mains replacements in a half-mile stretch between Berther Road and Slewins Lane.

Only small sections will be closed at a time and the work is expected to be completed by late November, a National Grid spokesman said.

“Beginning the work during the school summer holidays when the roads are generally quieter will also help ensure the work is delivered as smoothly as possible,” he said.

He also warned residents that it is “vitally important” to ask anyone claiming to be working on the roads to produce an official identity card before letting them into their homes.

For advice of more information contact National Grid on 0800 096 5678.
