Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were called to two houses in Udall Gardens at 6.17pm yesterday (May 28).

The fire was brought under control by 8.08pm and is believed to have been caused by an extractor fan.

Half of the roof common to both houses was damaged by fire.

Three people left before the arrival of the Brigade and were assessed on the scene by London Ambulance Service.

Fire crews from Romford, Hainault, Harold Hill, Ilford and surrounded fire stations attended the scene.
