Police are seeking a driver who struck a pensioner in a Rainham road and then left members of the public to attend to the victim.

The 84-year-old woman was in collision with a car as she crossed Upminster Road North, at around 4.45pm on Friday, December 6.

The driver got out of her car to check the pensioner, but then drove off without providing any contact details, leaving members of the public to look after the victim.

The OAP was taken to an east London hospital and remains there receiving treatment for a leg injury.

The driver is a white woman, aged in her 60s, with short blonde/white hair.

The vehicle was a small green car, possibly a Ford Ka.

There have been no arrests.
