A missing moggy who is “just like Bagpuss” is being sought by his desperate owner.

Popular Persian cat Mojo, 12, who has 460 Instagram followers from around the world, disappeared from owner Emma Jenkin’s back garden during Wednesday’s wild weather - and hasn’t been seen since.

“I’m so worried and really miss him,” said Emma, of Canbeera Close, Elm Park. “He normally goes out and has a little sniff around the garden but something must have spooked him, maybe the wind, and he ran off.

“He’s just like Bagpuss; he’s so sweet, lovely and cuddly.”

Emma adopted the elderly microchipped cat, who needs medication and is thought to have been developing an ulcer on one of his eyes, when his original owner went into a care home three years ago.

Emma, a Romford PDSA vet nurse, has been smitten with the semi-moustachioed animal ever since.

“I love him,” said the 31-year-old. “He would have come to my wedding in July but my husband banned him.”
