The singing teen with the “Essex” charm fell at the final hurdle in the nationwide talent contest over the weekend.
James Smith, 15, from Upminster, despite wowing the judges and audiences, came 6th in the Britain’s Got Talent final on Saturday.
He said: “I enjoyed my experience on the show and met some really lovely people. I am just so happy I got to be part of the show when I didn’t expect to get so far.”
James once again showed off his raw talent when he played his guitar and put a spin on the classic try a little tenderness by Otis Redding, but despite getting amazing comments, he came sixth in the competition, losing out to muscial boy band Collaboro.
Della, James’ mum, said: “The boys are really talented and did so well to win but James did an exceptional performance and I am very proud of what he has achieved.”
She added: “He is going to be signed to Britain’s Got Talent along with the other contestants for three months but after that, who knows. Watch this space.”
