Engayne Primary School has bagged a national award for challenging its pupils.
The Upminster school received the National Association for Able Children in Education’s “Challenge Award for More Able, Gifted and Talented Pupils” following a recent assessment.
The award recognises work by teachers and governors in pushing youngsters – including those with high abilities – to achieve their best.
Headteacher Suzanne Ship said: “We are very proud to have achieved this national award after a very rigorous assessment by NACE.
“It’s a fantastic recognition of the hard work of staff who go the extra mile to ensure children of all abilities have rich and wide ranging opportunities to shine.”
