The children of Scallywags Nursery in Suttons Lane, Hornchurch, descended on their neighbours at the Bupa Nursing Home for an afternoon of carols and a sing-a-long.

Viv Wood, the activities coordinator at the home, said: “They sang Christmas songs to create a Christmassy feeling for the residents.

“It’s always nice for them to see children around this time of year.”

Around 20 joined 15 older residents for the festive event just after their siesta and Mrs Wood added they were “full of energy and shout”.
