GCSE Results: ‘Best year on record’ for Abbs Cross Academy in Hornchurch

Both staff and students at Abbs Cross Academy in Hornchurch are celebrating after it recorded its best ever GCSE results.

The school in Abbs Cross Lane saw 69pc of students achieve at least five results of Grade 4 or higher.

All in all, 38 Grade 9s and 6 A* were achieved across all subjects.

Among the school’s highest achievers was Alex Jones who has a fantastic set of results - he achieved eight Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and an A* across all his subjects.

Headteacher Nicola Jethwa said: “I am delighted with this year’s results – our best on record for Abbs Cross.”
