A drunken woman standing outside a Romford pub punched a passer-by for no reason, a court heard today
Jolene Turvey, of Comyns Road, Dagenham, hurled an insult at the stranger and then punched her neck.
The 27-year-old mum-of-one had been drinking at The Goose pub in South Street when she lashed out on August 15.
The victim was unknown to Turvey and had just been walking by.
Police were called and security at the pub had to restrain Turvey who challenged a member of staff to a fight.
She admitted common assault and using threatening words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.
Her defence lawyer said her behaviour was caused by alcohol problems.
At Barkingside Magistrates’ Court, she was handed a 12-month supervision order with a 16-week alcohol programme. She must pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
A 41-year-old man has been stabbed at an address in Harold Hill.
