The devastated girlfriend of a man who was found murdered by a stream has issued a desperate appeal for witnesses.
Evaldas Svolkinas left his home at 6am in Dorking Rise, Harold Hill and was not seen or heard from again. His body was found by a stream on the Harold Hill/Noak Hill border three days later after sustaining severe head injuries.
Girlfriend of 13-years, Rasa Fergyte, 36, has urged anyone who saw anything unusual, no matter how small, to come forward.
Police have put up a reward of £20,000 for any information which leads to a conviction.
Miss Fergyte said: “You never know when you are going to be in this situation and you would like everyone to come forward with any information. We need closure and to know what happened and why. It’s changed everyone’s life who knew him.”
The pair met through friends and spoke about getting married and having children together.
“We talked about getting married but work used to take all our spare time,” she said. “He wanted to get married in Las Vegas but I wanted my family to be there - it was the one thing we didn’t agree on.”
She said Mr Svolkinas, who worked as a carpenter, was passionate about go carts and could spend days out on the track.
Rasa said there was an instant “click” when they first met, adding “When you meet someone, you just know they’re right for you.”
The couple dreamed about having children and would frequently have Rasa’s niece and nephew over for the weekend with Mr Svolkinas making biscuits and taking them on adventures.
She said: “They really really loved him and miss him so much. My nephew Adomas keeps looking at the sky looking for him. He said if he had wings he would fly up and catch Evaldas and bring him down here.”
Det Con Antony Davidson said anyone who saw anything suspicious or someone they did not recognise in either Dorking Rise or Carter’s Brook on the Harold Hill/Noak Hill to come forward.
