Havering Council’s cabinet will be considering proposals to merge the borough’s 13 children’s centres into six main locations tomorrow (Wednesday).
Services from some of the smaller centres could be transferred to one of the main centres in the borough.
The council said this will help protect the services provided by the centres for those who need them most. The council confirmed that staff numbers would not be affected.
The council is hoping to save more than £137,000 a year by cutting the running costs of the buildings.
And the council said parents can still attend any of the centres they choose and outreach work with families will continue.
