A man from Harold Hill has appeared in court today to deny murdering soldier Lee Rigby.
Michael Adebolajo, 28, appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink, alongside co-accused Michael Adebowale, 22, from Greenwich.
Both deny the muder of Fusilier Rigby in Woolwich on May 22.
Fusilier Rigby’s widow Rebecca Rigby broke down in tears at the hearing, as the pair also denied attempting to murder a police officer on May 22, the day of Fusilier Rigby’s death, and conspiracy to murder a police officer on or before that day.
Both wearing red T-shirts and pale trousers, they appeared from separate rooms for today’s hearing.
Adebolajo has asked to be known as Mujaahid Abu Hamza in court, while Adebowale has asked to be called Ismail Ibn Abdullah.
The pair were remanded in custody to face trial at the Old Bailey on November 18.
