Vandals smashed a pot plant and broke a photo stone at the wife of an elderly widower’s grave in Romford.

The heartless crooks struck sometime on either January 2 or January 3, damaging the 81-year-old man’s wife’s plot at the Crow Lane Cemetery.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101.

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups

A comedy festival in east London due to feature acts including Al Murray, Alan Davies and Ed Byrne has been cancelled because of “heavy opposition from local community groups”.
