Pauline Henkel was attacked with a handbag by a woman on the way to the park with her son. She has a cut on her nose and a bruise on her shoulder.

Police are appealing for information after a woman was smacked in the face with a handbag in April.

Following an altercation with a dog walker in Globe Road, Hornchurch, Pauline Henkel, 35, was struck with a bag before falling to the floor, where the suspect then kicked her.

Speaking at the time, Ms Henkel said she was walking with her nine-year-old son Alfie Boyle when the dog walker told the boy to stop bouncing his ball.

She added: “We walked away but the dogs were growling and I said she should stop them.

“I was walking away and she told me to ‘shut the f*** up’.

“I asked her who she thought she was talking to and then she hit me in the face with her handbag.

“She pushed me to the ground and then she was kicking me – my son saw the whole thing.”

The suspect is a white female, aged 30-35, 5ft 6ins tall with dark brown hair worn in a pony tail style. She was wearing a purple hoody, black leggings and trainers and walking a small sausage type dog.

Police want to hear from anyone who either witnessed the attack on April 10, or has information about the suspect.

Contact Det Con Dave Chitty of Havering CID on 01708 779 137 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 5405268/14.
