A special constable has been dismissed from the Met for stealing money from an Upminster festival.

Special Constable Kenneth Anumnne faced a gross misconduct hearing on yesterday (December 21) to answer allegations that his conduct breached the Met’s standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.

The Chair heard that, while working as bar staff at a festival in Upminster, the Special Constable Anumnne was caught stealing £30 cash on Sunday, May 28.

He was arrested and admitted to the offence in an interview.

SPC Anumnne accepted a caution for this offence on Monday, 29 May.

The Chair having considered all of the evidence found gross misconduct proven.

The officer was dismissed without notice.
