Man violently attacked at Brentwood station

Police are appealing for information after a man was violently attacked and robbed of his phone as he waited on the platform for a train at Brentwood station.

The victim, a 21-year-old man from Essex, suffered injuries to his face and back which required hospital treatment as a result of the attack, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

The assualt attack took place at 11pm on Saturday, December 14, on the steps leading from platform two and three.

Det Con David Bishop, leading the investigation, said: “The victim was standing on the station platform when he was approached by two men who demanded his phone.

“He refused and tried to escape but the suspects caught him and proceeded to kick and punch him several times before stealing the phone, an iPhone 5 worth £400.”

Both men are described as white and 5’10”. One had black hair and was wearing a red Ralph Lauren long-sleeved top. The other had blond hair with a combover and was wearing a white top.

DC Bishop added: “This was a horrible attack on a young man making his way home which left him with nasty injuries.

“We are following up a number of enquiries into this incident and I would implore anyone who witnessed the incident and saw what took place to get in touch with police immediately.”
