A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of pessession of a controlled drug with intent to supply following a police raid in Gidea Park recently.
Officers found “a large quantity of cannabis and drug-taking paraphernalia” hidden in the loft and other areas of the home in Carlton Road, spokesman said.
Sgt Pete Blackburn, of Romford Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team, added: “We simply will not tolerate drugs and other criminal activity on our ward and would encourage any resident with knowledge or suspicion regarding criminal behaviour to contact their local SNT or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The arrested suspect has been bailed to appear at Romford Police Station in April pending the result of further enquiries.
The bloodied man seen ranting on camera minutes after a soldier was hacked to death in Woolwich yesterday was raised in an “ultra-Christian household” in Romford, friends of the family claim.
