Plans for next year’s centenary of the start of the First World War will be unveiled at a council meeting.
Local historians and community groups are invited to attend and share details of their own events – potentially highlighting opportunities to work with the council.
The meetings will focus on sharing information on the activities, events and exhibitions planned for the year.
Leader of the council, Cllr Michael White, said: “This is a perfect opportunity for community groups and historians to come together, share their plans, and hopefully gain mutual benefit.”
Those who attend will also hear more about the restoration work planned for the borough’s five main war memorials, as well as information about how to access funding for WW1 Centenary projects.
The meeting will take place on two dates, January 16 at 2pm and January 21 at 7pm. Both will be in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall in Romford.
