A reward of up to £5,000 is being offered in the hunt for two men involved in broad daylight attacks on Post Office delivery guards.

The men are believed to be responsible for an attempted robbery at the post office in Eastham Crescent, Brentwood when a guard was Tasered after making a delivery.

It took place at 11am on Thursday, November 29 last year.

One of the attackers was armed with the stun gun device and the other was brandishing a baseball bat. Both were wearing balaclavas.

The Taser was used on the guard but the two men then fled empty-handed when an alarm sounded.

They were last seen running off towards The Broadwalk South.

The same men are also believed to have stolen a five figure sum of money from a post office in Stratford Road, Holland-on-Sea, Tendring, at 9.45am on December 20.

One of the masked robbers had a stun gun and both had baseball bats.

In both incidents the man armed with the stun gun was said to be about 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build. The other man was about 6ft.

The reward reward has been put up by the Post Office in an attempt to obtain information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men.

A Post Office spokesman said: “Staff and customers can be assured that their safety and security is of paramount importance to us.

“The people who run our Post Office branches provide important services to local communities.

“Any robbery or attempted robbery is not only traumatic for those involved but is also an attack on the local community.”
