Officers from Cranham Safer Neighbourhoods Team helped “break down barriers” between police and the community by attending a school.
The team met children and staff from Engayne Primary School, in Severn Drive, Upminster, and spoke about their role in the Met.
The officers then helped the children as they walked to a service held at St Luke’s Church, in Front Lane, Upminster.
Pc Belinda Goodwin said: “It was great to meet the children and gave us the opportunity for us to get to know everyone. It is important that we break down any barriers between police and our ward residents and this type of community engagement one way of doing so.”
