We have a reputation for high-quality musicals and concerts, and put on three shows a year, which we predominately perform at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch.
HMM were formed after the Romford Operatic & Dramatic Society folded. Two of its members, Maurice & Eileen Williams, asked for donations from other members to create HMM, with the purpose of performing at the newly relocated Queen’s Theatre in Billet Lane.
We’re a really friendly and welcoming group, who not only enjoy entertaining audiences with a host of shows, but also organise a range of social events, including regular quizzes, summer picnics and barbecues.
We’re always recruiting new members, who join for a variety of reasons. Often it’s to gain confidence or a great way to unwind from the stresses of work, but one thing we all have in common is a passion for theatre and performing. Our most recent past productions have included Hello, Dolly!, Godspell, Crazy For You, My Fair Lady and Oklahoma!
We’ve just finished a successful run of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado, which was a huge hit with our audiences, and we’re now rehearsing for Oliver! We’ll be performing it at the Queen’s Theatre from July 11 to 13.
There is growing concern for the welfare of a young Hornchurch man who has been missing since last month.
