Our conservation and maintenance work include ditch and pond clearing, scrub bashing and rogue sapling removal, woodland tasks, step and path building and repairing, wildflower, tree and shrub layer planting, fencing, hedge laying, dead hedge creation and of course, the usual and necessary, regular litter picking.

More recently, our work has also extended to gardening, planting and growing food for a local food growing community project in the Georgian Walled Kitchen Garden c. 1776.

A grant has been secured for funding to begin working on the project and at last we are growing vegetables and fruit for the first time for many, many years.

We need volunteers throughout the year and seasons. We also need people of all ages and talents for such tasks as research and record keeping etc. later at harvest time we would appreciate help with recipe creation, cooking and preserving skills. Everyone is welcome to lend a hand and enjoy the peace and serenity of a secret space! Come along and see us- you’re sure of a warm welcome and we value you interest and support.
