Pupils made buildings using spaghetti and marshmallows during an engineering challenge at Brentwood County High School.
The pupils from around the borough were taking part in the Engineering Challenge final after heats held throughout the year at primary schools using K’Nex kits.
Their challenge was to make a tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows, it had to be more than 40cm high and sturdy enough to hold the weight of a Kinder chocolate egg.
Children from High Ongar Primary School, Warley Primary School, Kelvedon Hatch Community Primary School, Shelley Primary School, Bulphan Primary School, Ingrave Johnstone C of E School, Doddinghurst Junior School, Hogarth Primary School and St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Primary School took part.
The winners were Julian Aubrey and Luis Makil from Hogarth, Second were Toby Peters and Lawrence Griffiths and in joint third place were Dylan Thomas and Leo Barron from Bulphan and James Schmiedefeldt and James Weston from St Joseph.
