A motorcyclist was thrown from his bike in a hit-and-run that left him with a fractured ankle and broken finger.
The crash, which happened on the Southend-bound A127 at about 6.45am on Thursday, involved a black BMW, whose driver didn’t stop at the scene.
The injured biker, who lives in Basildon and had been riding a red Honda motorcycle, was taken by ambulance to Basildon Hospital. He was released later that day.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to the smash. They also want to hear from any garage workers who have received requests to repair a black BMW, as it is thought the car was damaged in the collision.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Pc Roy Levett at Chigwell Road Policing unit on 101.
Alternatively, phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
