A 15-year-old boy is in hospital after impaling his leg on a railing at Romford’s Royal Liberty School this morning.
It is thought the teen had been trying to retrieve a ball. The railing went through his calf muscle.
London’s Air Ambulance and paramedics from London Ambulance Service were called about an hour ago.
Staff treated the boy’s leg injury and took him to Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way.
He went by road ambulance, but escorted by the specialist team from the air ambulance.
