Show Havering what your business has to offer while getting hints and tips from experts – that’s the council’s invitation in the run-up to this year’s enterprise expo at Romford YMCA.

You can book a stand at the exhibition now if you want to showcase your business and attract partners and customers.

Alternatively, simply pop along on the day to find out what others are up to.

The event, which happens on March 5 at the Rush Green Road centre, is part of the council’s enterprise week, and has already seen 20 firms – including Romford-based Towergate Insurance and Harold Wood’s Any Scale, which develops software for the building industry.

“We’re hoping for more exposure,” said Leanne Mitchell, owner and director of Any Scale, who said last year’s expo had generated a lot of interest for the firm.

“We can do demonstrations of the software on the computer if people want to see what it does.

“A lot of people don’t know we’re out there, so it’s about trying to grab all those people as they’re walking past.”

Havering’s cabinet member for community empowerment, Cllr Robert Benham, said: “The Havering Business Expo increases in popularity each year.

“The 2014 event is set to be another success, with an excellent exhibition and a programme of speakers providing information and advice for local businesses.”

Last year’s exhibition, held in Harold Hill’s myplace centre, saw local firms ranging from solicitors to theatres showing what they had to offer.

Forty stands are available this year, each costing £125 plus VAT. Entry for punters on the day is free.

For the price, companies and entrepreneurs will get a stand for the day, lunch for two, and refreshments throughout.

To book, or for more details, contact the council’s Linda Watson by e-mailing linda.watson@havering.gov.uk.

A council spokesman said the expo was backed up by Havering’s other business initiatives.

These include quarterly “Meet the Leader” events, which the council said provided an opportunity for business owners, managers and reps to question Cllr Michael White.
