Appeal after dog walker struck by moped in Harold Hill

14:35 23 May 2014

Two teenage boys have been arrested after a woman dog walker was struck by a moped in a Harold Hill park.

The 52-year-old victim sustained hand and leg injuries following the collision in Central Park, at around 5.30pm, on Thursday, May 15.

The collision caused the driver and passenger to fall from the motorbike but they left the scene before police arrived.

The driver of the moped is described as a white boy, of slim build, aged around 10 years old, and around 4ft tall, with short blond, spiky hair and an Irish accent. He was wearing blue shorts and trainers. He was not wearing a top.

The passenger is described as a white boy, aged between 13 and 14 years old, around 5ft 7ins tall, of a thin build, with light brown hair and an Irish accent. He was also wearing shorts and no top.

Officers subsequently arrested two youths, aged 14 and 17, on suspicion of aggravated vehicle-taking and failing to stop after a collision.

They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries and are due to return to an east London police station in late June.
