Age UK in Romford is appealing for unwanted Christmas presents to help brighten up 2013 for some of Havering’s older population.
The charity shop, which is open seven days a week, is accepting donations of good quality stock – just pop down to 93, South Street and hand it in.
Shop manager Ann Blackbourn said: “By donating unwanted Christmas gifts to our shop people will be helping a great cause.
“The money raised through Age UK’s shops goes to supporting the charity’s vital work for older people, so we are urging everyone in the area to de-clutter their homes and make a real difference to an older person.
“We need quality stock and if you don’t want it, we’ll take it.”
The bloodied man seen ranting on camera minutes after a soldier was hacked to death in Woolwich yesterday was raised in an “ultra-Christian household” in Romford, friends of the family claim.
