A Romford theatre school is aiming for stardom in a Glee-style competition.
Members of the Dreams Theatre School, based in Marshalls Park School, in Pettits Lane, are gearing up for the Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge semi-finals in November.
They will be competing in the regional section in Essex and if they are successful they will join the final in London.
Karen Easteal, director of Dreams, said: “We are down to the last nine groups and we will be performing two numbers, which have to include singing and dancing.”
They will include a 1960s mnedley of River Deep, Mountain High; Walk on By; Uptight; and Baby, Now that I found you.
Their second song will be Primadonna by Marina and the Diamonds.
Karen added: “The girls are doing really well considering that they didn’t know any 60s music before.
“They are very excited and they are loving practising the songs and dance moves.
“The girls are really looking forward to the competition.”
