The Priory Care Home in Noak Hill, Romford, which opened its doors again last week, was taken over in 2011 by Advinia Heathcare.

The company took over a group of homes that were in administration at the time and has revamped them as part of a £22.15m transformation programme.

Advinia said residents were fully involved in the revamp of The Priory from choosing the wallpaper in their rooms to changing the colour scheme in the public sitting rooms.

Pauline Guthrie, manager at the home, said: “We really wanted the residents to have their say in how the refurbishment was carried out, because that’s the kind of home we are. With their help, the home is 100 per cent better than it was two years ago.”
