A Hornchurch school has raised more than £500 for First Step at its Christmas events.
Parents and carers donated money during RJ Mitchell’s carol concert and infant and junior Christmas productions. The school raised £566 towards First Step’s services to help support children with special needs and/or disabilities, and their families.
Barry Road, headteacher at RJ Mitchell School, said: “It’s an amazing effort from a small school. Each year the children of the school decide which charity to support and I am delighted that we continue to support such a worthy cause. I look forward to raising even more money for First Step in 2013.”
The bloodied man seen ranting on camera minutes after a soldier was hacked to death in Woolwich yesterday was raised in an “ultra-Christian household” in Romford, friends of the family claim.
