A 17-year-old cyclist was left with a broken leg after a collision with a car in Brentwood.

The collision with the small, blue car happened in Highland Avenue, on Friday, October 12 at about 7.50am.

The cyclist, was at the junction with Sawyers Hall Lane when her bike was clipped by a car and she fell off.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene, but other motorists came to help the girl. She was taken to Queen’s Hospital, in Romford, and was treated for a broken ankle.

PC Rob Bray, who is investigating, said: “I urgently need to speak to the driver, who, I am sure will remember the incident in Highlands Avenue.

“Any other witnesses who have not contacted me and who have useful information can also contact me at on 101 at the Southern Road Policing Unit at Laindon.”
