Brentwood County High School will be laying on late buses on Wednesday for pupils who live outside the area.
The service, which is free for pupils, is so they can stay for clubs, activities and revision sessions until 5pm.
It is available for pupils who do not live in Brentwood town and is being funded by the Government’s Pupil Premium fund.
Headteacher Stephen Drew said: “School should be about more than simply lessons and exams. Students need to have the chance to do sports, arts, science and all the other things that enrich our lives.
“Our Pupil Premium Funded buses allow all students access to Wednesday night clubs and activities.”
Three men will today go on trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court for the rape of a woman in Romford last year.
