An air cadet was honoured for her commitment and hard work at the Battle of Britain Day parade.
Col Markham Bryant presented his Deputy Lieutenant of Havering Award to Cpl Catherine Ferguson of 452 (Hornchurch) RAF Air Cadets on Sunday, in recognition of her performance in corps exams and her completion of the Duke of Edinburgh Award to silver standard.
Flt Lt David Emmins said: “Cpl Ferguson was also recognised for organising a team research project on the role of the Lancaster Bomber, and helping organise a visit to RAF Hendon and the Bomber Command Memorial in London for a veteran who was too frail to attend the official unveiling ceremony.
“She is currently planning the next phase of a research trip to visit the German dams that were bombed in the famous Dambusters raid.”
