A nurse in Romford has been struck off after he sexually assaulted and photographed a woman on the same night that another man raped her.
On March 2 a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) misconduct panel discussed the future of 33-year-old Olamide Adewumi Oluwajana, of Penn Gardens, Collier Row, after he was convicted of the sexual assault of a female.
The panel heard the incident took place on September 22, 2019, when the woman went to Oluwajana’s house along with her boyfriend and a third man.
The woman and her boyfriend retreated to a room where they had consensual sex, during which the third man entered the room and raped her.
Oluwajana also entered the room where he aggressively fondled her breasts and took photographs of the couple having sex, the panel was told.

On May 6, 2022, Oluwajana was convicted of sexual assault at Snaresbrook Crown Court and was given a two year prison sentence, which was suspended for two years meaning he will not see a prison cell unless he commits another crime during that time.
Oluwajana will also remain on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
As a result of this conviction, the NMC misconduct panel found him guilty of misconduct.
The nurse refused to engage with the NMC and the panel noted that he showed “no evidence of remorse, regret or insight”.

He continued to maintain his innocence while he was being sentenced for the crime, though his defence was described as “implausible”.
A risk assessment stated: “Mr Oluwajana has been assessed as posing a medium risk of causing serious harm to women.
“The risk is both sexual and psychological.
“Should Mr Oluwajana carry out a further sexual offence, it is reasonable to state that it would happen in the company of others or be of a less direct nature, for example: sexual assault in a crowded area or if he was alone with a vulnerable female patient.”
The NMC decided to strike Oluwajana off the nursing register meaning he is banned from the profession.
He will have 28 days to appeal the decision.
