West Ham looked like being dragged in to the relegation zone after a run of one win in 11 matches, but today’s victory over Swansea means they are nine points clear of the bottom three.
The Hammers needed a goal from Liverpool loanee Andy Carroll to claim the victory and ease the pressure on manager Sam Allardyce.
“We were under big pressure today to produce a result,” he said.
“I thought we thoroughly deserved the win. The way we’ve been playing at home has been fantastic all year. It brought us the victory, but it was a shame it wasn’t by more.”
