Manager Martin Jol said on-loan midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong will make his Fulham bow in their next two games after the 21-year-old was an unused substitute in last night’s 3-1 win against West Ham.
Frimpong sealed his move to Craven Cottage at the end of last week but Jol said he hadn’t had time to assess his fitness before the Hammers clash.
“The thing with Manny is that he joined us on Monday and he has only had two sessions,” he said.
“So it was just not enough to assess his fitness.”
The Cottagers face Manchester United on Saturday and Norwich the following week and Jol is confident the Ghanaian youngster, who had a loan spell at Charlton earlier this season, will be ready by that point.
“He didn’t play a lot for Arsenal or the under-21s. He came back form injury.
“Hopefully in the next couple of games he could make his debut.”
Transfer news: Arsene Wenger wants to add goals to his Arsenal side and has been tipped for a spending spree in the summer transfer market after they beat north London rivals Tottenham to fourth spot in the Premier League yesterday.
