Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade hailed his side for never taking their foot off the gas as they won 2-0 at Shrewsbury.

Strikes from Mathieu Baudry and a Kevin Lisbie penalty, after he earlier had a goal ruled out, stretched the east Londoners’ unbeaten run to four games in League One.

It also moved them to within seven points of the play-offs and sixth-placed capital rivals Brentford who lost 2-0 at Carlisle.

Slade said: “In the last five to 10 minutes we were still pressing them and that was excellent.

“They are a big side, a physical one, and we felt if we stopped crosses and set plays we were bright enough to open them up.

“Lisbie is onside and produced a fine finish and for it not to be given is a woeful decision, but his ability is great he is so elusive he could lose someone in a telephone box.”

Shrewsbury: Weale, Gayle, Jacobson, Jones, Mambo, Porter (Morgan, 66), Richards (c), McAllister (Parry, 75), Summerfield, Eaves, Taylor

Unused subs: Anyon, Goldson, Rodgers, McGinn, Purdie

Leyton Orient: Jones, McSweeney, Vincelot, Cuthbert, Baudry, Cox, Lisbie (Odubajo, 62), Macdonald, Clarke (c) (Omosuzi, 65), Cook, James

Subs: Smith, Grainger, Rowlands

Referee: T. Harrington
