Martin fears more postponements
Romford boss Paul Martin insists his men will be ready to face Sudbury at Ship Lane on Saturday — but fears another game will be lost to the weather.
Boro saw their Ryman One North games at Soham Town and Cheshunt called off over the past week due to snow and frozen surfaces.
And although the players have still been training regularly, Martin admits that the Sudbury game — plus Tuesday’s rearranged visit to Cheshunt — could also fall by the wayside.
“We’re trying to keep the boys as fit as possible,” said Martin.
“We trained on Saturday, Monday and Thursday, so that we’re ready whenever the next game turns out to be. But the problem is that if the snow does thaw, pitches can become waterlogged.
“I wouldn’t hold my breath at this stage.”
German forward Lukas Podolski has been linked with a switch to Juventus after being the most substituted of Arsenal’s attackers this season.
