Daggers have completed a loan move for West Ham United midfielder Blair Turgott.
The 19-year-old was linked with a move away from Upton Park yesterday, and has subsequently joined the Victoria Road side until the end of the season, which could see the winger feature in seven games during his time with the Daggers.
Turgott spent a spell on loan last season at then League Two side Bradford City, and was part of the Bantams squad which made the League Cup final.
Zavon Hines was also with the Yorkshire side at the time and Turgott’s signature is a like-for-like replacement for the former Hammer, who has been ruled out for the season after having surgery on a knee injury.
During his time with the Daggers, Turgott will wear the number 25 shirt, and could go straight into Wayne Burnett’s side for the home game against Oxford United on Saturday.
And on the signing, Burnett told the club website: “I’m delighted we’ve managed to capture the services of Blair Turgott from West Ham United, who have been very helpful in allowing him to come here on loan. He will hopefully enhance the group, he’s someone we’ve seen on numerous occasions and he’s impressed us all here.”
Turgott is an England youth international at every age group from under-16 to under-19, and has also spent loan spells at Colchester United and Rotherham United over the last two years.
The West Ham United youngster becomes the fifth loanee at the Daggers, joining Ashley Chambers, Lawson D’Ath, Ade Azeez and Luke Norris at Victoria Road.
