Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still pleased that his side limited the Robins to little in front of goal in the 1-0 victory at Victoria Road.

Daggers boss John Still believes his side’s defensive performance was outstanding and paved the way for the 1-0 win over Cheltenham Town yesterday.

It was the second clean sheet in succession following their shut out at Plymouth the previous week and felt they limited former Dagger Paul Benson to very little in front of goal.

“I thought the back four were outstanding, the two centre halves I thought were magnificent,” said Still.

“They have got good pace and strength there and we limited them, who have two players who are regular goalscorers, to not very much.”

There were plenty of opportunities for Still’s side on the day, but they had to settle for just the one goal, with Sam Williams seeing his penalty superbly saved by Robins goalkeeper Scott Brown.

But the victory moves them up to 13th in the League Two table, six points off the play-offs, and now gives the Daggers the perfect confidence boost going into Saturday’s game at second placed Gillingham.
