According to reports, Dagenham & Redbridge have agreed a fee with League One side Peterborough United for the sale of striker Rhys Murphy.
The 23-year-old is the second top goalscorer in League Two behind Scunthorpe United’s Sam Winnall and was speculated with fellow League One sides Coventry City and Bradford City last week, but both clubs have seen denied any interest in Murphy, who joined the Daggers on a free transfer in the summer following a spell in Holland with Division Two side Telstar.
The Post had a quick telephone conversation with Daggers’ managing director Steve Thompson, who said at this time the club would make no comment on the reports.
If the former Arsenal youth product was to make the move to London Road, he’d follow in the footsteps of previous Daggers strikers Dwight Gayle and Craig Mackail-Smith.
Other players to have also left the Daggers for Peterborough include Shane Blackett, Dominic Green and Scott Griffiths.
