Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett could give loanee Luke Norris his first start as the Daggers head into action against League Two table toppers Scunthorpe United later on today.
Norris joined the Victoria Road side on loan on Thursday from Brentford, while Burnett was further boosted by Rhys Murphy turning down an opportunity to join League One side Peterborough United.
Midfielders Matt Saunders and Billy Bingham could make the bench after continuing their recovery from ankle and knee injuries respectively.
Bingham came through 60 minutes of a reserve team game on Tuesday unscathed and is the likelier of the two to take his place in the matchday squad, as should back-up goalkeeper Jordan Seabright after recovering from an ankle injury.
Lawson D’Ath has entered the last week of his second month on loan from Championship side Reading, but despite the likelihood of Bingham and Saunders return, Burnett could look to extend his stay with the club.
“We may look to extend it,” said Burnett. “Matt and Billy are returning from injury and making good progress but I wouldn’t rule out extending it. We will have to look into it.”
Leaders Scunthorpe have a plethora of options available up front with the likes of League Two top scorer Sam Winnall, Deon Burton, and January acquisitions Paddy Madden, Paul Hayes and Gary McSheffrey to choose from.
Strikers Matty Godden and Connor Jennings remains absent though with calf and ankle injuries respectively.
